Fenady, Andrew J. - The Man With Bogart's Face

Chicago, Henry Regnery, 1977.  Plastic surgery provides the face, a legal form provides the name change to Sam Marlow, a used car dealer the 1939 Plymouth, and the want ads the secretary with a face & build like Marilyn Monroe.  A throwback hero (to say the least), Marlow is well positioned to take the case of the Eyes of Alexander, a perfectly matching sapphires which have gone missing.  Lighthearted and full of corny cliches and Hollywood name-dropping, this romp provides a welcome change of pace from the contemporary thriller. Spine very slightly cocked. Residue to endpapers,  DJ browned with light wear to extremities.  $10.00
