The Mysterious Bookshop

Davies, L(ewis) P(urnell) - A Grave Matter

Garden City, Doubleday/Crime Club, 1968. First US edition. When John Morton was a child, he snuck on to the grounds of the Maulden estate and saw two ghostly children cavorting.  The discovery of the remains of two youngsters on the grounds of the estate years later compels Morton to return to his home town, where he finds himself drawn into a compelling tale of horror and greed.  DJ shows wear to extremities with one small open tear to rear panel, along with slight browning, particularly to spine.  $17.50.
