The Mysterious Bookshop

Dashiell Hammett - The Maltese Falcon

N.Y., Knopf, 1930. First edition of the most famous detective novel of all time, a Haycraft-Queen cornerstone title, and the basis for three motion pictures, the best known being the last, which starred Humphrey Bogart as Sam Spade. This is a very good copy in the second issue dust jacket, which has reviews on the front flap. It has been professionally restored and now presents beautifully, though slightly less bright than when it was first published. I defy you to point out the restoration unless you examine the interior. A very collectable copy of this very important book. $8,500.00
