The Mysterious Bookshop

Chandler, Raymond - Raymond Chandler Speaking

Boston, Houghton Mifflin, 1962.  Second printing.  While the author of Farewell, My Lovely and The Big Sleep, among many others, never wrote a memoir, we do have this collection of excerpts from his letters that have been categorized into various subjects to form the closest thing to an autobiography that we are going to see.  Lots of interesting stuff including Chandler on writing, publishers, mystery novels, his own works, and of course, cats.  Near fine in DJ which shows wear to corners and spine ends with a very small closed tear to rear flap/panel.  $25.00.

We are devoted to all things mysterious, from hard-boiled hardcovers to pulpy paperbacks, suspected signings and whispers around town.

Located at 58 Warren St in New York City, we are open Monday-Saturday from 11am-7pm. 212.587.1011
