Bruce, Leo - Murder in Miniature: The Short Stories

Chicago, Academy Chicago, 1992.  A collection of short pieces from Leo Bruce, pen name of Rupert Croft-Cooke, all but one of which were published by the London Evening Standard between 1950 and 1956.  Ten stories with the coarse, earthy Sgt. Beef, eight featuring policeman Sgt. Grebe, and  ten with no recurring character.  An excellent introduction to the snappy dialogue and inventive plots of author Bruce. Fine in fine DJ. $20.00.
