The First Mystery Club

Recommended for those collectors who want to get in on the ground floor.  Each month, we offer the debut novel of a new mystery author. As the collecting of mystery fiction continues to grow, these books and their generally small print runs have been the books that most rapidly appreciate in value. While we do not like to think of books exclusively as investments, it is impossible not to consider this element of a purchase.  Previous selections have included authors like Laurie King, Jeff Lindsay, Rebecca Pawel, Duane Swierczynski and Charlie Huston, as well as literary marvels like The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by Edgar Wroblewski, The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova and Marisha Pessl’s Special Topic’s in Calamity Physics. 

The Soft-Boiled Club

The Hard-Boiled Club

Like your books to be a bit more on the dark and deadly side of crime fiction?  Then look no further.  The HB Club includes all your hard-hitting, gun-toting, head-splitting favorites.  Lawrence Block, Jeffery Deaver, Thomas Perry and George Pelecanos to name a few.  Up-and-coming authors like Marcus Sakey, Sean Chercover and Chelsea Cain also make the grade.   Call us for details!

The British Crime Collectors Club

Many of our favorite mystery authors do not reside in the U.S. and, thus, the true first editions of their books often come from the U.K.  The BCC Club offers the best from our overseas friends.  Signed U.K editions are hard to come by in the U.S. and there are not many vendors with the ability to stock them.  Authors like Ian Rankin, Val McDermid, John Le Carre, John Connolly, Minette Walters and John Harvey all show up regularly as selections.  One of our most popular, the BCC Club puts hard-to-get books in the hands of avid collectors.

The Unclassifiable Club

We've recently re-vamped this club to cover biblio, literary and the just plain odd.  Previous selections have included Paul Auster, Michael Chabon, Jonathan Lethem and Joyce Carol Oates, all of whom are highly collectible.  Questions?  Let us know!
